What we can learn from one day builds

Well, one day builds are a bit hit and miss to be honest. You set off with the picture in your head on how you want things to look and then it goes a bit Pete Tong.

I decided to go easy for this build. A Revell Tie Fighter kit. £5 from Gekostar here in Birkenhead. They are brilliant in this shop and if I had a bit more cash I would frequent them a lot more.

The build itself was easy and the parts went together really well. I used tube acrylic paints on top of a dark grey primer as I was able to get the colours to mix a bit better and at a quid a go from Poundland, they are cheap to replenish. I painted the inside of the cockpit although you can't see it and the overall finish I was pleased with. I will be doing more kits in the future and I will do a better detailed build log with them. Here are some photos to show the final model though.
