I have always built model kits from when I was 7 to now almost 40 years later. I was never any good at painting, but I sure did love the build, the intricacies of making the parts stick together and the pride and joy I would get from finishing a kit.
Once I got to 40ish, I decided it was time to start again and I did so with a couple of Star Wars Fine Molds kits. Namely the X-Wing and Y-Wing. They sat in the boxes for ever and then I discovered Bandai, who basically took the Fine Molds idea and made it better. Highly detailed and snap click kits that not only looked awesome but at the same time where fun to complete.
At the same time as this, Revell of Germany started doing their own new Star Wars kits but these where not like Bandai. These are true glue together and paint kits. I started off with the easier Millennium Falcon and Tie Fighter and have started doing one day build and paints.
Below is the parts for the Bandai Stormtrooper which was a lot harder than I thought but once together, it is truly a well conceived model which I will come back to in the future and paint and detail.
